Abstract:

Introduction: The right use of BLOOD is necessary because of the high cost of correct BLOOD screening, BLOOD grouping, and cross match. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the rate of the reserved and cross matched BLOOD before elective surgeries which were done in Bahman 22nd Hospital. It also aims at evaluating the standard guideline for ordering BLOOD.Materials and Methods: This is a retrospective study from 1380 to 1388 that evaluates evaluating 6145 files of the patients hospitalized in 22 Bahman 22nd Hospital for surgery during the years of 1380 to 1388. The elective operations include General surgery, Gynecology, orthopedic, ENT, Urology and Neurosurgery. The number of patients, the number of reserved and cross matched units and the number of transfused units was recorded for each group of patients collected in each groups. Finally, the number of reserved BLOOD units in that period of time and in each group was compared with the standard guideline. Also the number of transfused BLOOD units was evaluated. The ratio of cross matched to transfused BLOOD units lower than 2.5 was considered as standard. And The obtained data were analyzed, using with SPSS.Results: A total of 1557 BLOOD units of BLOOD were reserved for 772 patients.1305 units (66.47%) were cross matched, but just 126 units (8.1%) were transfused. The effective factors in increasing the possibility of transfusion were the ages<20 & >80 years old, Hb £ 12, the type of surgery and the surgeon. Although after the application of the guidelines in1385, there was 64.44% decrease in the rate of cross matching rate due to the decrease in the number of patients who were cross matched, but the average of cross matched units for each patient did not change. The total of C/T index of the hospital decreased from 14.1 to 3.7.Conclusion: The appropriate correct BLOOD reserving can decrease the unnecessary BLOOD reserves, lower the pressure on BLOOD banking centers and prevent BLOOD wastage.

Abstract:

Introduction: The inter - relationship between ABO BLOOD groups & infections has been extensively studied. In this investigation we studied this inter relationship. Methods: 103 patients of Isfahan dental faculty and some clinics that had removable prostheses were studied and the occurrence of denture stomatitis & angular chelitis, and sex & age of them were determined. Results: In this study 49 cases were male & 54 cases were Female. The ranges of their age were between 33-34 years. Among patients (D.S.+) 25 cases were male & 25 cases were female. 62% of patient (D.S.+) has "0" BLOOD type, 50% had "B" BLOOD type, 41% had "A" BLOOD type & 20% had "AB" BLOOD type. 48.5% of all cases had denture stomatitis but only all cases had angular chelitis. All the patients that had angular chelitis soffered from denture stomatitis, too.Discussion: The occurrence of denture stomatitis and angular chelitis varied depending on the BLOOD type of the patients. Especially in BLOOD group "O" compared with other TYPES, both denture stomatitis and angular chelitis were found to be higher or more severe. In the "AB" BLOOD group these infections were found to be less than other BLOOD TYPES.These results suggest that the ABO BLOOD group is one of the etiologic factors of denture stomatitis and that denture wearers of BLOOD group "O" are more susceptible to denture stomatitis.

Abstract:

Background: The ABO BLOOD TYPES are thought to affect the roots of human behavior and act as a predictor of individuals’ personality. The present study aimed to evaluate the relationship between personality factors and the ABO BLOOD group. Methods: This cross-sectional study used quota, convenience sampling to select 160 students from Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences (Tehran, Iran). The Neuroticism, Extraversion, Openness Five-Factor Inventory (NEO-FFI) was used to determine the subjects’ personality traits. BLOOD type of the participants was confirmed based on official documents. The collected data was analyzed using chi-square test in SPSS16.Results: There were no significant differences in the prevalence of personality traits between different BLOOD TYPES or the two genders. In other words, prevalence of personality traits was not significantly related with either ABO BLOOD TYPES or gender. Conclusion: According to the controversial and inconsistent results from different sources, ABO BLOOD TYPES do not seem to have significant associations with personality traits.

Abstract:

BACKGROUND AND AIM: Bacteria colonization is the main cause of periodontal diseases and may be effected by ABO BLOOD TYPES. Since implant survival is severely reduced by peri-implant disease, this study aimed to evaluate the marginal bone resorption levels and survival rates of implants which were followed for 1-8 years and analyze these values with respect to demographic data and BLOOD TYPES. METHODS: Patients who had undergone implant treatment and had prosthetic rehabilitation at the School of Dentistry in Van Yuzuncu Yil University, Van, Turkey, between March 2010 and March 2017 were studied in this cross-sectional retrospective study. In this study, 272 individuals were included, and a total of 963 implants were evaluated. Individuals who had implant treatment were called for control visits and clinical and radiological examinations. The effects of BLOOD TYPES were evaluated in terms of implant survival, failing implant, post-operative complications, and mesial-distal marginal bone resorption. Statistical analysis was performed using NCSS 2007 software. The Kruskal-Wallis test, Pearson's chi-square test, Fisher's exact test, and Fisher-Freeman-Halton exact test were used for statistical analysis. Statistical significance level was considered at P < 0. 05. RESULTS: The mean age of the participants was 49. 49 ±,11. 92 years. The BLOOD TYPES of the participants were O (52. 2%), A (30. 5%), B (11. 1%), and AB (6. 3%). The implant survival rate was found to be 98. 3%. There was no significant difference between BLOOD TYPES in terms of gender and age (P > 0. 05). On the other hand, mesial-distal bone resorption was higher in patients with O BLOOD type older than 50 years (P < 0. 05). CONCLUSION: The fact that 52. 2% of the patients with implants had O BLOOD type, which is higher than the Turkish general population, may suggest that individuals with O BLOOD type are more prone to tooth loss. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study that assessed the impact of BLOOD type on the success of dental implants.

Abstract:

Although ABO incompatibility between mother and fetus has long been suspected as cause of spontaneous abortion in man, its precise contribution has not been completely resolved. In spite of reports in which the incompatible mating was recognized to be a cause of habitual abortion, and which eventually results in infertility or a reduction in the number of living children compared with the number in compatible matings, such effects were not observed in other studies. The aim of this review article was to show some evidence of relationship between ABO incompatibility and spontaneous abortion.

Abstract:

BLOOD money dilution is, inter alia, serious objective and unique quality conducted in four ways. Intensifying or dilution of BLOOD money is unique to murder crime differs in terms of time and location of murder in Haram months or in Mecca. Islamic Penal Law ratified in 2013 has followed jurisprudents' opinion in some cases of BLOOD money dilution while in the case of execution, Judiciary has ignored border between deliberate murder, unintentional murder, and pure error by determining only one kind of BLOOD money and in this perspective. They have added to Islamic criminal laws the way of BLOOD money dilution. Present paper in studies four methods of BLOOD money dilution and emphasizes on the necessity to determine and dilute BLOOD money in different TYPES of murder.

Abstract:

To study the sexual fertility and for a dermination of the mating TYPES of the cause of rice bakanae disease and foot rot, samples of infected rice were collected from different regions of Guilan Province in during 2004.One hundred and thirty and three single-spore isolates were obtained from Khazar while nine isolates from local cultivars. Morphological identification was carried out employing the valid morphological identification keys. For fertility test, crosses were carried out among local isolates on Carrot Agar medium, four pairs of which resulted in fertile crosses. Sixty isolates were crossed with six standard isolates representing three mating populations and six mating TYPES (MATA-1, MATA-2, MATC-1, MATC-2, MATD-1 and MATD-2). Of those isolates 23, 17, and 38% belonged to mating populations A, C and D, respectively. Aall, local isolates with fertile crosses were, included in mating population D. Furthermore, the ascosporous isolated from field perithecia, stood in mating population D. For pathogenicity test, 142 isolates were inoculated to Khazar seedlings nine of which showed no disease symptoms. The results of the study revealed that indicated three mating populations, A (F. verticillioides), C (F. fujikuroi), and D (F. proliferatum) are the cause of rice bakanae disease and foot rot in Guilan province, north of Iran Province.
